About Me
I'm Chris! A Game Developer currently looking for new oppurtunities in the Games Industry. I graduated from Leeds Beckett University with a First Class with Honours in Games Design.
I am still in the beginning of my career so I am looking for roles that can help me expand and develop my existing skills in a professional setting. I have just over a year in industry experience as well as 3 years of practical experience from my time at university!
My core skills involve using Unity and C# but I gained valuable experience with C++ and Unreal during my most recent employment. During my employment I was entrusted with multiple different portions of the VR project which mainly involved gameplay and UI development which I was left to my own devices with how I would approach the task.
My most recent employment was with I3 Simulations, a development firm focused on VR simulations that aimed to educate the user's in various areas based on the client's industry. Due to an NDA contract I can not show my work in public fourms but am happy to discuss it and show examples in a private call as this was authorised by my line manager.
My time with I3 really helped expand my experience with working with a professional team, having only worked in university group projects, the jump to a professional workflow was a big one as I now had to consider that other people may need to use/edit my code. While I always strived to have readable code my mentor helped show me where I could improve and I still have much to learn but am excited to continue building my skills throughout my career.
As an individual, I am very passionate about doing things the right way, I always aim to make sure my workflow works efficently with everyone involved and the code I write is structured properly. I can definetly get caught up in this ideology as it sometimes prevents me from the "Fail Fast, Fail Often" but i'm hoping to work on this.
I am currently looking for employment in a Junior Developer role or something with a similar experience requirement.
